Expose a "History Stack" like the History Pannel in PS
It would be really useful if we had a visual, interactive History Stack similar to the History Panel in Photoshop, Which would add a field for any action with the name/description of the action to that stack,
-It could be used to intuitively jump to a previous action without having to press the 'Undo' innumerable times.
-It could be used for creating an snapshot(basically 'Hold') a particular action or even more than one action to revert back to at any given time.
-A system could be implemented to place a copy of a previous state of an object that is highlighted currently in the History Stack in the scene next to it's current state.
And so on...

Actually, there are small black triangles point downward next to the undo/redo buttons at the upper left of the application window (above the Tools and Group menus). If you click on either of these, a panel appears with the previous commands the user initiated. You can then step back to the undo state you prefer, similar to the history palette in PS. This is also similar to what Martin mentioned (right-click menu expose) for the older undo menus in version prior to 2010.
This being the case, it would be nice if a "hold" option were integrated into this menu, instead of just the menu item. This would be similar to a snap shot in the PS History Palette.
Well, the base functionality appears to be there, but it's not as robust or as intuitive a system as I'm requesting here, Imagine an 'Outliner like' panel that can be docked somewhere(can the current one be docked somewhere?), and exposes that stack of actions in one place(instead of separate lists for Undo and Redo), which would also allow those things that I talked about, pretty much how Photoshop handles this(for one thing imagine if you could create more that one snapshot/hold and access them anytime in your scene).

This is already available when you right-click on the large Undo buttons (which were available in older versions and now need to be restored manually).
