Curve Editor VERY laggy
The Curve Editor, since it's revamping in Max9 (2009?) is very slow. In particular the object tree on the left pane seems to be the problem, when several animated objects are selected navigating that panel is very slow, the refreshing rate is abysmal.
Also playback with the Curve Editor open and any object selected is horrible, the frame rate drops to a crawl; again the problem seems to be the left panel that refreshes after every frame. Scrubbing the time slider is not a problem, but as soon as the Play button is used it breaks down.
I think whatever method Autodesk used to create the new Scene Explorer (also laggy) and Curve Editor just can't cope with the task of managing even a small amount of elements on the dialog window. It's particularly bad on the Curve Editor, it makes it almost unusable.
make curve editor much more faster especially when it comes to complex long hierarchies and set ups ,it shouldnt calculate the whole way down the chain every key change in curve editor that s something i suffer when doing set ups and rigs for things like tentacles and curvy limbs , in maya things just go like charm in that way
Did you ever compare dragging around the material editor window with the curve editor window? the curve editor moves with 1 frame per second, thats pretty annoying
Totally agree ~!
In AE, you can also view and edit all the key frames.
In 3ds max, curve editor only shows the control of the current object.
If you choose a set of objects, it will be nothing to show that you do not know the collection of animation, you have to choose one by one all the child nodes and sub-collection under the child nodes ... for this reason, I want to delete 3ds Max.
yes that s very frustrating , it affects the functionalities of most of rigs i do

I don't know if this is a "small annoying thing" but I agree with you. Very frustrating if you use it a lot.
