+1 to what Fla3D said. All your undos can be quickly eaten up by selections, as well as changes to spinner values. It usually happen when making comparisons before committing. What would be useful is a way to pin a specific undo point, though I guess you could always just save the file under a temporary file name instead.

200 is a great number IMHO, the selection can eat almost all the undos.

You can change it to 250. So I don't get what the big deal is.

prefer it around 30 since its very system consuming,... maybe optimize how the software deal with it and increase it even more.

@Martin that's a good idea, maybe even set it so you can tell max what you want undone and what you don't?

Yes, 21 isn't going to make much difference. ;)
I typically set mine to 60 and this seems to work fine. There are some functions in 3ds Max that potentially could suck up all Undo memory (such as attaching multiple meshes), so maybe 3ds Max could issue a warning when the Undo stack becomes extremely large? -
martin can you post an ideal number please? if we change it to 21 I'm sure it's not going to make many happy.

I tend to change my default to 99. Seems to work well enough and give me enough of a history between versioned files.
Maybe for others out there, you can post your typical, ideal, and working number of undos!
