Smooth zooming about cursor when using mouse wheel

its tiring to keep pressing the z key and use the zoom tool, these should be automatic, i like modeling and keeping my eyes on my model not looking all over just to zoom or find a simple tool such as this, many other applications already do this and this should be basic!!! this should be FIRST on Autodesks list, i don't know why no one has requested this so far. all my other programs have this

    how about " The ability to zoom smoothly in the direction of the cursor and the zooming updates automatically irrespective of which object you point at and eliminate the need to select an object and press the "z" key to update the zoom for that object."

    lol, didn't know you guys were so uptight about professionalism and people writing in all caps and such, well i was really frustrated when i tried to model something in max the other night which took me no time to do in google sketchup. Sorry about that i can get abit carried away but still glad i got your attention. this zooming issue had me really annoyed. am calm now :) am stil testing 3ds max, i want the company to buy a few copies so am tying to fully convince myself about it first before i try to convince others
