Extruding spline with custom/dynamic direction in Extrude modifier

Extrude Modifier should have an option along which axis to extrude (right now, it always uses z axis)

You have left! (?) (thinking…)

We need an extrude modifier (shift+mouse drag) if you want to cut the object inside. Something like intrude > it should do the same thing as in sketchup. The old 3dmax way is to much hustle: need to extrude it inside, then make more edges on the part where it intersects with the intruded poli, then to delete all the vetices, then weld evereything... You guys need more tools that automates the whole proces, and instead of having this ribbon which takes much space and time, you should put all the tools in 4 toolbars (vertex, loop, edge and poly mod) with automated tools which are used mostly in modelling. The whole interface needs adjustment with the new UI design (3dmax hasnt changed it since `97). Better grouping of similar tasks, better UI icons. You should completely change the command panel and make it modern with floating menus, etc. I always have to make my own shortcuts to achieve some things faster and the old interface just doesnt work for me. Its OLD!

Exactly. I use the "create shape from selected" followed by extrude or Bevel
pretty often. It happens quite some times that the extrude mod extrudes in the default/wrong axis. So I need to create a new spline in the right axis attach the desired spline and detach the dummy spline. When I think about it, it would be even better to have an adjustable angle next to an xyz option.
