Please do not change. Make it an option under preferences. A lot of people prefer the grey to be default..like me :)

I second "Off by default" - I always tick if off before freezing.

I would change just to not be default option. Keep show frozen in gray optional is OK to me.

How about both. When I use freeze (not that often) I always untick the Show Frozen in Grey option... Always. But I can see how it should be on by default, for new users who need to know why they can't select something they may have frozen accidently.

What it SHOULD do is remember the users preference somehow. Add a new option in Preferences under General next to Backface Cull on Object Creation (which I find really useful and should be on by default).

For me it's fine like it is now. Wouldn't change it.

I actually prefer this to be the default, as it makes it readily apparent that an object is frozen. I think new users would find it frustrating to encounter frozen objects that aren't visually distinct, especially as they then wonder why they are having trouble selecting an object that appears normal.

Me too, sometimes I use the gray to frozen meshes, but I rather gray color when I need.

I sometimes use it. But I agree, it should really be off by default.
